Several years ago while doing work on loaders in an acid plant I did a test with 4 bolts and some wiring connections to see how they would fare mounted behind a cover at the back of a loader.. The end bolt was sprayed with CRC soft seal and wrapped with Denso Tape the next one was sprayed on one side only, then one was only sprayed with Soft Seal while the last was left unprotected. Around 4 months later they were all cleaned off to assess the damage. The bolt with plain Soft Seal came out as good as the one with Denso tape added. This is in an environment that turns a 19mm bolt into a 17mm bolt within a year. Since then I use Soft Seal on anything that will be in a harsh environment.
